
Karşıyaka Municipality Hikmet Şimşek Art Center is a cultural and event venue located in the Atakent neighborhood of Karşıyaka, İzmir. Its central location makes it easily accessible. Opened in 2011 as the Karşıyaka Opera and Theater Hall, the venue was renamed in 2015 in honor of the renowned orchestra conductor Hikmet Şimşek.
The center covers an indoor area of approximately 3,000 square meters and stands out with its excellent acoustics. It features exhibition spaces, private boxes, and a main hall with a seating capacity of 517. The venue hosts a wide range of events, including theater, opera, ballet, concerts, and various stage performances. Additionally, it regularly organizes classical music events with the Karşıyaka Chamber Orchestra. Thanks to its modern infrastructure, it is considered one of the leading art venues in the region.
By Car:
From İzmir city center or via the ring road, head toward Karşıyaka and follow Atakent Mahallesi 6445 Street. The Art Center is located near the main roads and the coastline.
Travel time from Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) by car is approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic.
