
Located in Kadıköy, Istanbul, on Bağdat Street in the Caddebostan neighborhood, Caddebostan Cultural Center (CKM) is one of the most important cultural centers on the Anatolian side. Hosting events that leave a mark on the art world, CKM has a seating capacity of 656 in its large hall and 126 in its small hall. Theater performances, jazz and classical concerts, film screenings, and exhibitions and panels by national and international artists take place at CKM.
To address the cultural and artistic gap on the Anatolian side, Kadıköy Municipality began construction of Caddebostan Cultural Center on December 5, 2003. It opened to art enthusiasts with concerts by Fazıl Say on December 11, 2005, Sertap Erener on December 14, 2005, and Erol Evgin on December 21, 2005. Built on an area of 19,000 m², CKM is designed to accommodate up to 3,000 people simultaneously with its theater, conference, cinema, and exhibition halls.
The center includes 8 cinema halls, a publishing house, a restaurant, a gym, a boutique art library, an art gallery, 3 foyer exhibition areas, 2 multi-purpose halls with 126 seats, and 1 multi-purpose hall with 656 seats. With an average of 1 million visitors per season, CKM ranks among Turkey’s most important cultural centers.
