Müzik Sandığı – Dimitrie Cantemir’den Anton Pann’a

Event description

"The Music Chest – From Dimitrie Cantemir to Anton Pann" will meet its audience on November 2 at the Atatürk Cultural Center.

About the Project
The “Music Chest” project emerged from the need to introduce Romanian cultural heritage and is a comprehensive cultural initiative with both educational and artistic dimensions. The project includes four early-period Romanian music concerts and four Byzantine music concerts in Thessaloniki, Istanbul, Bucharest, and Sliven, alongside four press conferences.

During these conferences, the history of musical periods in Romanian territories between the 18th and 19th centuries and the importance of musical instruments will be discussed. The project will also commemorate the 320th anniversary of the publication of Dimitrie Cantemir’s Book of Knowledge of Music and the 180th anniversary of Anton Pann’s Theoretical and Practical Foundation of Church Music, emphasizing the role of these two great scholars in both national and universal culture.

A brochure will be prepared in four languages, presenting their universal legacy through visuals and biographical elements.

Performing Artists:

  • Dr. Constantin Răileanu – Project Coordinator, Kanun (Romania)

  • Dr. Alexandru Stoica – Ud (Romania)

  • Sabin Penea – Violin (Romania)

  • Drd. Andrei Nițescu – Cello (Romania)

  • Ghassan Bouz – Percussion (Lebanon)

  • Prof. Dr. Murat Salim Tokaç – Tanbur (Turkey)
