Luca Stricagnoli will meet his fans on April 5 at the Atatürk Cultural Center Theatre Hall in Istanbul.
With his music videos reaching over 200 million views online and performances across the globe, Luca Stricagnoli is considered one of today’s most unique guitarists. His creative style, which led him to invent instruments such as the Reversed Triple Neck Guitar and the Reversed Slide Neck, has made a major contribution to the modern evolution of the acoustic guitar. He has been described as a “phenomenon” and a “genius” by leading magazines and newspapers such as NME, Guitar World, Der Spiegel, La Repubblica, Daily Sabah, and Frankfurter Allgemeine. Thanks to his music, he has performed in more than 20 countries before audiences of up to 12,000 people, and has even caught the attention of world-famous bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, and Walk Off The Earth.
Luca began his musical career at the age of 10 with classical guitar training and later continued at Italy’s most prestigious music school, the conservatory. He proved himself in the field of classical guitar by winning first place at the “Cittá di Lissone” competition. He then discovered the Fingerstyle Guitar genre and began learning its techniques on his own through YouTube videos. With the acoustic guitar, he won first prize with a score of 100/100 at the “VII Festival Internazionale Della Chitarra di Fiuggi,” and also received the “Festival dei Talenti” award along with the opportunity to perform in front of the legendary Italian group New Trolls. During this period, he met Italian guitar maker Davide Serracini and began working with him.
In the following years, Luca developed his own distinctive style incorporating innovations such as violin bows, playing multiple guitars simultaneously, modified capos, and unconventional tunings. His arrangement of “The Last Of The Mohicans,” released by Candyrat Records, became his breakthrough. The arrangement was streamed millions of times in a short period and earned Luca an offer to release his first album. The album’s lead track, his rendition of “Thunderstruck,” reached 14 million views within a few weeks and led to concert invitations from around the world.
Entering a busy touring period, Luca released his second album, “What If?”, a few years later. The extraordinary ideas he developed for this album—such as the Reversed Triple Neck Guitar, a first in guitar history—created a huge buzz and went viral online. This success gave Luca the opportunity to perform at private events for Nobel Prize winners and top-level CEOs; his music was also featured in countless television programs. Luca launched his own YouTube channel, reaching hundreds of thousands of followers and earning a Creator Award. He also collaborated with his award-winning singer-songwriter wife, Meg Pfeiffer. The duo won the European Songwriting Award and 10 different awards at the German Rock & Pop Awards, and they embarked on highly successful tours together.
With his third album, “Change of Rules,” Luca introduced new inventions such as the “Guitar Ring” and the “Reversed Slide Neck.” The “Reversed Slide Neck,” in particular, attracted significant attention online and was praised by New Atlas, one of the world’s major science and technology publications.
Performing roughly 100 concerts a year, Luca has appeared in a wide range of venues—from small-town stages to major halls like the Tel Aviv Nokia Arena, from events for private clients such as Formula 1, Hard Rock Hotel, Infosys, and BNSF Railways, to sold-out shows in philharmonic halls and prestigious theaters. He has conducted workshops at universities, performed on national television and international festivals, and served as a jury member in international guitar competitions. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with Grammy-winning or Grammy-nominated artists such as Jim “Kimo” West, Linda Briceño, and Debashish Bhattacharya, as well as many talented musicians including William Joseph, Caroline Campbell, Sona Jobarteh, Lulo Reinhardt, Antoine Dufour, Cenk Erdoğan, Antoine Boyer, Samuelito, Calum Graham, Crystian Dozza, Thu Le, and Alexandra Wittingham. Luca has recently founded his own music company and also regularly hosts the International Guitar Night event.
