Two world-famous names of flamenco, Mercedes Ruiz (choreography and dance) and Santiago Lara (composer and guitarist), bring their partnership of more than 20 years — both on stage and in life — together in the impressive performance titled “DUAL.”
Premiered at the 2023 Avignon Off Festival, DUAL received great acclaim with 19 performances, followed by five completely sold-out shows in London, as well as appearances in major cities across the United States, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris La Scala, and throughout Spain.
Next stops: Paris, Berlin, Seville, Istanbul, Ankara!
DUAL offers an emotional journey through different styles of flamenco, presenting to the audience the evolution of dance and the rich expressive world that extends from its traditional roots to its modern interpretation.
At the same time, this performance stands as a tribute to flamenco guitar and Spanish music, featuring works by masters such as Sabicas, Sarasate, Ramón Montoya, and Manuel Morao, as well as original compositions by Santiago Lara, a student of Manolo Sanlúcar.

Mercedes Ruiz, who has had her own company since 2001, is the recipient of some of the world’s most prestigious flamenco dance awards.
Mercedes breathes through flamenco, feels through flamenco — it is a way of thinking, feeling, and living.
She is a sensitive soul who has turned dance into her own form of expression, combining technique, style, emotion, and the essence of dance in an intimate and inseparable way.
She has won major awards such as the Córdoba National Flamenco Art Award, the Seville Biennial Award, and several critics’ and audience awards at the prestigious Festival de Jerez.
She has produced and created 12 shows with her own company, touring the world and performing on prestigious stages such as Maison de la Danse (Lyon), Sadler’s Wells (London), International Music House (Moscow), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), and New York City Center (New York).
She has worked as a choreographer for the Spanish National Ballet and continues to teach flamenco dance internationally through her intensive and ongoing programs.
Santiago Lara has released six albums and is recognized as one of the most important flamenco guitarists of his generation; he is also known for his concerto composed for guitar and orchestra.

Everyone entering the concert venue must have a ticket.
The concert will take place regardless of weather conditions. Tickets are non-refundable.
Professional audio and video recording equipment (video cameras and cameras) as well as selfie sticks and GoPro poles are not allowed inside the venue.
Audio and video recording will be made by the organizer during the concert. By purchasing a ticket and entering the venue, attendees consent to being recorded.
Ticket holders agree to all security measures determined by the organizer and security staff, including bag and body checks. Attendees who do not comply will be denied entry without a refund. The organizer may request identification to verify age.
Attendees grant the organizer the right to use any photographs and videos taken during the concert for promotional purposes.
It is prohibited to bring any flammable, explosive, reflective, sharp or piercing objects, or laser pointers into the concert venue.
