About Baku City Circuit
Baku City Circuit is a legendary street racing circuit located in the heart of Baku (93 Zarifa Aliyeva), the capital of Azerbaijan, hosting the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, one of the world's most prestigious motorsports events every year. Connecting the modern Baku Boulevard on the shores of the Caspian Sea with the historical Icherisheher (Old City), a UNESCO World Heritage site, the circuit is known for both its ultra-fast straights and extremely narrow, technical corners.
Considered one of the fastest street circuits in the world, this area transforms the city into a massive festival center with giant grandstands, fan zones, and entertainment areas set up during race weeks. It offers speed enthusiasts and sports tourists the opportunity to experience both the modern and historical texture of Baku at the same time.
How to Get to Baku City Circuit?
Located right in the center of Baku, access to the circuit should be provided by public transportation, especially since roads are closed to traffic during race periods.
By Public Transportation:
- Metro: It is the fastest and most practical way of transportation. By using the Red or Green lines of the Baku Metro and getting off at the Sahil, Icherisheher, or 28 May stations, you can easily walk to the grandstand or entrance gate your ticket belongs to.
- Bus: BakuBus (red buses) lines departing from all over the city to the center can be used. However, since many central roads (Neftchilar Avenue, etc.) will be closed during race week, buses use alternative routes.
By Private Vehicle:
- Since the circuit consists of the city's main streets, the route and surrounding roads are completely closed to vehicle traffic throughout the race week.
- Therefore, using a private vehicle during the race period is strongly discouraged. Leaving your vehicle in parking lots far from the center and taking the metro to the area is the safest and most comfortable option.
