Eluveitie

Eluveitie

Eluveitie was founded in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann and has become one of the most influential and original bands in the folk metal scene. For over 20 years, the band has blended melodic death metal with traditional Celtic music, standing out with both musical and conceptual depth. With albums like Slania, Helvetios, and Origins, Eluveitie has built a large international fan base, while also creating a ritualistic and spiritual atmosphere on stage. With their new album ÀNV, the band reinterprets this deep-rooted legacy in a modern language and is set to embark on a Turkish tour in 2025, with shows in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

Who Is Eluveitie?

In 2002, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Chrigel Glanzmann founded the Swiss folk metal band Eluveitie. The group’s thematic storytelling rooted in Celtic mythology, culture, and history makes them stand out. Traditional instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy, flute, and bagpipes blend seamlessly with heavy guitar riffs and harsh vocals. The band’s name, derived from the Latin word for the "Helvetios" people, has grown to become one of the most creative and intelligent names in the folk metal genre.

Eluveitie Songs

Eluveitie’s music merges traditional Celtic melodies with the intense and technical structure of melodic death metal. The lyrics are often written in Gaulish or ancient Latin, exploring themes like mythology, nature, and human history.
